I have an odd little problem that has been bugging me. I've done a little bit of experimenting and hopefully know enough for us to narrow this problem down. So the short is, I'm a moderator on a small, new economic server but since the building in Beta I've been unable to connect to the custom domain names the server owner claims. Originally I got around this problem by requesting the direct IP address from the owner which he gave and that IP had no problems and I connected to it fine. The problems happen when I try to use any of his custom domain names (and he has several).
etc. Every single one appears the same when I try to connect to them. They act as if the server doesn't exist and say "can't connect to server" same is if I'd entered an invalid ip. If I try anyway it immediately says java.connectException: connection refused! which is pretty standard. However, I have noticed that after pinging for a while the banner art for civexon appears in the left corner. The only thing I can think of is that my internet provider is refusing connections to whatever DNS sites he is using though it won't say this. The servers are all based in Europe if that is my problem? Regardless, the direct IP worked which tells me that DNS sites are the problem source. I can connect to most of servers with no problems including ones with custom domain names. So what could be my issue? My brother and cousin are both in the states and have had zero problems with this. They are not trying to connect over my internet though (I'm in a different state).
I have port-forwarded my own router because I sometimes start up a local server that my friends in other states want to join in on. Could this possibly be my problem?
I can't find any problem like this that I've seen and I'd like to get it straightened out soon since I'm a moderator and supposed to be fairly active.
Space Expedition to EPIC 204:Go on a Space-Age Adventure to visit and explore EPIC 204, a wacky world of dense asteroids and full of alien life! Experience Custom Seasons, Weather, Over 50 new creatures, Beautiful Biomes, Alien Ruins, Dungeons, and new space age tech crafting recipes!
Update: I got the custom domain name to work. I can login. Apparently my computer/minecraft will only do this if I attach the colon and port number afterward?? Not really sure why that is necessary, kinda defeats the purpose of the domain name and DNS Site service.
So what worked was: mc.civexon.tk:26658
I thought at first this could be because I'd port-forwarded the default minecraft port on my computer but tests show this isn't the case for my friend who also port-forwarded the same port. This remains a strange unresolved issue. Any insights appreciated, even though I found a way to make the login work.

civexon.cloudns.pw (and with some other endings)
