Hi, I'm having a very awkward issue which I had never encountered before when playing Minecraft on older versions. What happened was when I create a new map, say I set my chunk view distance to 16 chunks, it will only load up chunks up to 16 from where I started and stops. It will either take about 5 minutes to load further chunks or it will not load at all and all the mobs will stay stationary. I cannot even deal any damage to any of them. I tried save and exit and re-enter into the world, the chunks remains the same. I also tried changing the chunk view distance to 8 chunks and 32 chunks and start a new world. The issue remains. I even tried setting all my graphic settings to the lowest but nothing helps.
I'm running on 64-bit java, allocated 4GB memory to minecraft, Windows 8 64-bit. 24GB Memory RAM.
May I know is there other methods I could troubleshoot this?

The chunk load stops at this, further load will either take a few minutes or it will not load at all.
And some stationary chickens, they are also flapping their wings frantically... kinda funny though.
