Alright, so I just got my new computer. TODAY. I opened minecraft and It was just fine, then after downloaded the stuff that I needed like WINRAR and Avast!, I tried to open minecraft. 1st of all it was really slow. (PC Specs: 8GB RAM A10 Processor) then when it finally loaded, it said Unknown Error. Seriously?! I am pissed off because I wanted to play. I tried deleting my .minecraft folder and I re-downloaded from the site, even trying Minecraft.exe and the installer version. Please help.
Okay, so, open the Minecraft launcher. Click "Edit Profile". Now, all the way at the bottom, click on the box that says "JVM Arguements", and make sure it has a check mark. Then, where you see "-Xmx1G", change the 1 (or whatever number it is) to a 2 or a 3 (the number is how much RAM the game is aloud to use while it's running). Click "Save Profile". Lastly, have fun! I really hope this works. If it doesn't, you probably need to install optifine, or your processor is just too slow (which is most likely not the case).
Good luck! :3
P.S. If this all doesn't work or you want to skip optifine, I can tell you how to set an amount of CPU power to Minecraft every time you play. Just ask.
Oh... Did you install Minecraft by using the new launcher Dinnerbone very recently made? He said it could have some known bugs. If you did, uninstall the current Minecrat you have right now. Then download Minecraft.exe instead of Minecraft.msi. Drag and drop onto your desktop and try. :3
hmmm maybe updating java may be of some help, the version of java windows comes with may or may not be completely out of date or not even installed with windows. that AMD A10 APU is by no means too slow either, considering its effectively a 12 core processor lol so i doubt its the APU XD
And i dont even play minecraft anymore.
Good luck! :3

Did you actually install Java? If so update it, if not...I shouldn't need to say it.
Bro, this was so long ago. I have had it fixed for a long time.
