I was playing on a singleplayer minecraft world I made. It was working fine earlier, but when I botted it up this morning I am constantly getting massive lag spikes, causing my framerate to go from ~60fps to ~0. Then after a while it crashes. From the game output I got this: [10:13:19] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 18626ms behind, skipping 372 tick(s) How can I fix this?

This seems to be a reoccurring problem in Minecraft 1.8 (assuming your running Minecraft 1.8). It really hasn't been identified why certain people get this type of lag, and we have to wait until Mojang fixes it. There are several forum topics on it already and they can supply you with more insight on this problem than I can. Hope this helped! (The problem occurs from Java's garbage collector.)
Yeah it is odd. I have been running almost exclusively 1.8/snapshots for a year now, and I have not once got this problem. I recently got a new gaming rig and for the longest time it didn't have a problem either.
Random lag spikes-halp!
