I just got a new computer, and I was looking forward to some lag-free Minecraft.
When I try to download Minecraft.msi from the official website, it downloads just fine, but when I attempt to launch it, I get a small popup that reads "unknown error."
Not only can I not play Minecraft, but I cannot download Forge to play Pixelmon, due to the fact that I cannot get a .minecraft File in Roaming due to the fact that Minecraft won't complete the first-time launch. I can't do anything if Minecraft won't create a Directory.
If this is a common problem, or if someone thinks they know the solution, I'd be super grateful! I'm looking forward to playing again.

Thank you so much! That launcher worked like a dream- now I can play on all my favorite modded servers on my new laptop.
