So i got a new laptop for christmas and ofcourse i downloaded minecraft and got good fps without optifine but a few weeks later my fps is horrible i have everything low with optifine and i have nothing else but skype open and i have gone and uninstalled most of my programs and i really dont feel like reseting my laptop so if anyone could help that would be great i also wanna know if anyone else gets bad fps with a computer around the same specs as mine.
OP, your CPU is weak, and you have an intel graphics chip. Don't expect much from it, even with everything turned down. Laptops are not gaming machines. Even gaming laptops are bad for gaming.
1. Mildly useful for freeing up system memory, but he has 8GB, so its a non issue.
2. Hard drive space =/= performance. Uninsalling thins would just free up drive space, nothing more.
3. Sure, but there is no indication of this being the case.
4. Again, sure, but the computer is reletivly new. Fragmentation would be minimal, and even with ~20% fragmentation, it would only impact read/load times, not system performance.
