On its own, Thermal Expansion works just fine, along with all the other smaller mods. But when I install all the big tech mods together, I get an error depicted in the screenshot attached to this post. I think Thermal Expansion may be causing it.
All the mods I've got are "fresh" - the latest versions as of two days ago.
I tried looking for this "ForgeModLoader-client-0.log" file mentioned in the error display but I can't find it. I'm using MultiMC to launch my modded client.
Please help. I've lost so much time (two days now) trying to get MC to work with all my fav mods without once playing the game itself.
You have a mod with outdated CofH API. Update all your stuff.
Where can I find the more up-to-date version of the CofH API? All of my downloads are, to my knowledge, of the latest version, as of three days now. These are the files I have:
CoFH Core 3.0.0B9-40
CoFH Lib 1.0.0B8-34
Thermal Foundation 1.0.0RC1-13
You misunderstand. One of your other mods uses outdated CofH API. Update every other mod. Starting with mods that use RF energy. Leave CofH mods alone, those already have the latest API.
And, if I read this right, you also have a very old Forge.
How is that possible? I selected the very latest version of Forge that MultiMC has to offer. Version 10.13.2.1286. Is that not the latest?
I also don't understand what you mean by updating every other mod. The mods I'm using are the latest versions. I know this because I downloaded the latest versions of the mods just 3 days ago. Everything I have is up to date, as far as I know. So I don't know which mod uses an outdated CofH API?
I wrote "if I read this right". I saw Forge 1207 mentioned in the error, the error might be mentioning only the minimal FOrge required instead of the one installed.
And check the mods listed in the error mostly. A very similar error was rampant around August after CofH changed their API and was caused by other mods using outdated API.
EDIT: It's also possible that your CofH mod files are at fault since you don't have the latest versions. CofH mods update often. I doubt a big API change was introduced since last month but it's possible. And something may already be using the newer API. BTW: For example CofH Core is at B9-93 now, you're at B9-40.
Wait, CofH is at version B9-93 now?? Where do you get that download? http://teamcofh.com/downloads/ --> that is Team CofH's official website, isn't it? Yet on their download page, the latest version of their core mod is at B9-40, the one I have. This is very strange. But if my version is outdated, then indeed it could be the reason for my annoying errors.
Also, sorry if I sounded too jaded with my remark on Forge. I suppose I was feeling frustrated after failing my 15th or so attempt at trying to get the mods working (until now, I've been installing them in small chunks and in different order to try and isolate a possible conflict... no success).
Hey grimallq, thanks for your help. I really appreciate it, especially since you're the only one willing to help me out at the moment. I downloaded the latest alpha versions. I'm not getting my original error anymore but now, my client is crashing before it even opens the MC window. I included a crash report and I hope you can tell me what I'm doing wrong again.
PS: I've successfully isolated the entire conflict on CofH / Thermal Expansion. Kind of expected, I guess, since that's what you were hinting at in your earlier posts. But now that I have no doubt that it's another mod possibly causing the problem, I can put my mind a little bit to rest.
