I know I have the wrong forum but the Minecraft Support thread was closed for some reason. Anyway I have this problem where my screen flickers or flashes white then back to normal, but it doesn't do it once then stops it does this multiple times in a row. I have one mod installed and that is OptiFine but I do not believe this is a problem? I have looked up YouTube videos on how to stop this but the ones I found are for NIVIDA drivers and I do not have them. If you guys could help me get his resolved that would be great! Thanks!

You should ask a mod/admin to move this thread here, I guess: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/off-topic/computers-science-technology. On topic: I haven't really found a solution for this, but I'll try to. I remember that this happened to my cousin's game as well. What company manafactured your driver?
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
1. I would put this in the general discussion if the support forum isn't open (Don't see why not)
2.What version are you using?
3. Try uninstalling the mod (Just download a fresh new jar) even if you don't think it's it.
4.Delete (put your world saves, resourcepacks, and screenshots in a seperate folder first) your .minecraft folder and re-install minecraft (you can do this by simply starting up the launcher and starting up minecraft)
What version of Minecraft and Java do you have? Make sure to try java 7 or 8, and make sure you only have one installed at a time. (You can check this via control panel under java, and programs)
I actually had a similar problem to this (may possibly be different), but it didn't seem to be due to anything related to my graphics card.
I don't know what caused it, but here's the little spiel on what worked for me.
I have a nice, heavy gaming laptop that runs windows 8. I mostly like windows 8, but it's an absolute demon when it comes to the auto-updater. I have since figured out how to remove this "feature" but windows 8 computers have this wonderful little thing where it says "You computer will be restarting to install important updates in 15 minutes" and there's jack you can do to stop it. In 15 minutes, your computer will restart and close all applications. Anyway, one time one of these updates happened, and I re-opened minecraft to find a similar problem (flashy, POV jerk, could move POV, then it would go back to pointing straight down [seemed like my computer wasn't able to show/register any changes]). So I was frustrated, then maybe 2 weeks later, another force-update came out. It knocked on my door, let itself in, got a cup of coffee, and installed itself. After this update, minecraft ran totally fine.
So, see if you can update your computer. I don't know if this is the same problem, but it seemed like a similar issue to me.
DrWeegee123 Thanks so much! I found out I had two Java versions running at the same time! One was an old version and the other one is the latest. Anyway I disabled the old version, opend Minecraft, an boom no flickering!

If any of those work, or if they don't tell me.

Assuming you're on Windows: It's in the control panel, just search "Java" (No quotes) if you don't see it straight away.
