As of about two days ago I started experiencing an issue with Minecraft that I've been unable to resolve. Randomly I'll freeze up in-game and after about a minute I'll get DC'ed with this error http://i.imgur.com/yuOzaGr.png or a simple "Connection lost" error. Once this error appears I can immediately return to the main menu and re-join my SMP server.
I've tried many different troubleshooting steps and so far everything has failed. I've done fresh installs of MC after entirely deleting my .minecraft folder. I've tried both the installer and launcher listed on the website, along with the older launcher. I've tried Java 7(u67) and 8(u25) along with 32/64 bit of both. I disabled all background applications and ran on bare minimum and updated GPU drivers. MTRs confirm there is no loss or latency spikes occurring and I am wired into the modem. I am also not running any firewalls or antiviruses. I've done my testing on two different vanilla MC servers and used 1.7.10, 1.8.1 and 1.8.2 prerelease, issue is persistent across all three. I have also played around with
network-compression-threshold and use-native-transport on the servers, neither had any serious effect.
