I have just re-downloaded minecraft after deleting it from my CPU. Once i started it up and everything loaded. I can see through the ground, and certain blocks far away are black. I have updated my Graphics chip(since i am running on a notebook PC) To the most recent version. I have a ATI Mobility Radeon 4200 series. (4250 HD to be exact.) with 8 gb of ram. AMD Turion II dual core processor. Could really use some help with this asap!

try turning off mipmapping. If that has no effect then try toggling your VBO setting.

Thanks! Once I turned off Mipmapping from 4 to 0, /i am now able to see the ground.
