I recently built a new Windows 7 64- bit PC and installed Minecraft on it. There isn't any problem with the game but I noticed that whenever i run it three shortcuts appear onto my desktop. The first one is a folder called "runtime" the next one is another folder called "game" and finally a notepad called "nativelog". Minecraft doesn't run without these so I cant just delete them or else it will just say that the actual program is missing and the shortcut leads to nowhere. I've tried re-installing it and everything but the same thing happens every time. I have the same problem with FTB(Feed The Beast). It adds even more shortcuts with other things and when i installed a modpack that added even more. Honestly I am lost and there is a huge clutter of shortcuts on my desktop and i don't know what to do. I could just uninstall minecraft and probelm over but I would prefer no to since I like the game. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
The new launcher creates these files. It's done I assume so that you don't need java pre installed. My only suggestion is copy all 4 (the 2 folders, mc.exe and the notepad file) into another folder (move it wherever you want). Then create a shortcut for Minecraft.exe and put that on the desktop.
