Since there is no 1.8.1 version of Forge for Minecraft 1.8.1(or at least I can't find one), I was then wondering how to install the older version of Minecraft 1.7.10, or any other old versions.I also don't know how to install mods, as I got the game last week.
Read that link I posted. Almost every basic subject is covered there. Then read each mod's instructions for additional info if applicable.
Yeah after staying up till about 5 last night, I successfully installed a bunch of mods with Forge.
Why it took me so long is why some mods wouldn't work...but I got help and figured some stuff out.

You also know that there are installers for mods right? A lot easier to install a mod using the installer.
You click edit profile then go to the version setting and scroll down to whatever version you want
Then click New Profile
Then Click Release version 1.8.1 (or whatever version you are using
Then Run Minecraft, then it should be in whatever version you selected!
