Hello Minecraft forum. Long time reader, first time complainer. I scouted the forums for this issue but couldn't find anything that correlated, nor anything that recommended a solution.
To summarize: In every game I'm playing, chunks of textures aren't loading. I'll be able to see through the ground I'm standing on and not fall through it. Mining it, bashing, putting stuff on it, and sometimes moving around makes it flash, get worse, or fix it. And it's not just ground textures, anything that isn't a sprite tends to be a bit howyagoin; I put a sign down and all I could see was the text (3spooky5me). I've scared the bejesus out of myself a few times when the ground I was standing on suddenly disappeared and I was floating above a lava cavern that was perfectly defined.
Things I have tried: Messing around with the Minecraft graphics menu options (Visual range, quality settings), updating my graphics card (For once it actually did need to be updated, didn't fix the issue though), restarting Minecraft, checking to make sure it's plugged in.
Now I did recently reinstall Minecraft after a long hiatus, but I wiped the .minecraft folder and forced an update so I'm clueless as to what might be causing it.
I have attached four images that are some of the most poignant of the lot, but trust me it happens constantly.
(I've reduced the image sizes to make it a bit easier on everyone's computers. Don't worry, it's a pretty significant issue so you won't miss much).
If I've made a mistake in putting this thread in the wrong section, feel free to flame me and point me in the right direction.
Set VBOs to on then tell us what happens. It might just be a chunk rendering bug. If that doesn't work, then post this in the bug tracker with your java version, Minecraft version, etc.
MechaRage: Reloading the chunks worked for a few minutes, but it slowly returned to it's original problems. When I tried it a few more times, it actually got worse (Please see attachment 5).
herobrine123x_: I loaded the game and turned VBO's on, instant Java crash. Then I tried loading it up again, and it crashed in the launcher (But I think that was unrelated). Third time the charm, I managed to load up the level and saw a few seconds of it before it crashed and burned. Damn near crashed the whole desktop. I also tried reducing the viewable chunks down to 2 in case it was purely a matter of too much, but that didn't show any improvement. Most of the log's don't seem to show any problems, but one stood out and it's listed as an attachment a spoiler, because apparently text documents take hours to upload...pffft.
I appreciate the help. Could it be a Java issue? Maybe it's out of date? I'm not sure, I'm just throwing around ideas.

So I doubled checked my Java and my graphics drivers and both of them are up-to-date, so no notable improvement.
Just got blown up by a creeper when the nice big empty space I thought I was running into turned out to be a rock face about fifteen stories tall, so I'm seriously willing to try anything right now.
EDIT: So I just noticed this, it get's progressively worse as I play. Initially it'll be perfectly fine or just flicker a bit, but after about twenty-thirty minutes it starts getting really bad (See attachments in above posts). If I quit the session and reload, then it restarts the process.
