I am somewhat new to the world of Minecraft, and probably have relied on my compass a bit much.

I have gotten myself into a situation where I have followed the compass after going on a long "hike".

Now I find myself at the point that it says was my spawn point, but I am not even in the right biome.

I also created a torch lit tower at my encampment, which was really close to my spawn point, but it is nowhere to be found.

Has anyone else had this issue before, and if so, how did you fix it?

I really don't want to die if at all possible. Also, where is the correct place to post this, then?
