Hi, I recently reset m computer to factory settings and have had trouble logging into minecraft. When i try to login I get the message Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers. Please make sure that you are online and that minecraft us not blocked. (sockettimeoutexception: connection timed out). After extensive research the solution seemed to be to re-install java and or minecraft. After doing this several times however I still get the same error message when trying to login to minecraft. After some more research I came to the conclusion that I needed to allow minecraft through windows firewall. So after doing this I restarted minecraft but still cannot login. When opening minecraft it goes straight to the login screen. By chance while going through my %appdata% i found out that my .minecraft folder was almost completely empty. Inside it all there is is a versions folder which is completely empty and a launcher_profilesjson doc. I have no clue what to do I cannot even login as a guest. I've re installed minecraft and java several times. I know that i have the proper java installation. If you could please help it would be greatly appreciated. I cannot "force update" either.
