Hi

My game keeps pausing every few seconds, for a couple of seconds or so - Doesn't matter which server I'm on. My fps is 60 and I'm on a fast internet connection. I have also tried reloading Minecraft. Had a look on this forum and on Google but can't find exactly same problem.

Windows 7 home premium, Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6900

Internet broadband 50+Mbps, Java V7 Update 65

Try setting the JVM Arguments in the profile editor to the following

-Xmx3g -Xms256m -Xmn128M -XX:PermSize=64m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+CMSConcurrentMTEnabled -XX:+UseCMSCompactAtFullCollection -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy

Meant to note - the game has been running fine for over a year until recently...
