Why are you even allocating 4G of RAM??? Allocating more RAM than it needs is not good. If you are playing vanilla or maybe with a few mods(like in your case), 300-500 MB should be enough. If you are using a big modpack with demanding mods like Mo'Creatures, only then you should allocate more RAM but still it shouldn't exceed 1G to 1.5G.

can anyone resolve the crashes?

This seems to be a DirectX error.
im using a toshiba sattelite c850 :I
it has an i7 3630QM
and i pushed it to 16 gigs o' ram
Java and Minecraft don't like it if you give them more than 4G.
Does it crash during load or mid-play?
Have you configured yours?
