What happened: I decided to play some Minecraft today, so I opened the launcher, and clicked "Play" just like normal.
The launcher downloads only 1 thing that's required to run MC, so I close the launcher and open it again, click play,
repeat 2 more times, and it finally launches. So I played quite a bit of Minecraft, on my favorite server.
I wanted to play some lucky block with my friend so I had to relaunch in 1.7.10 forge. I close MC, go into the launcher, and it downloads 1 thing. I close it and reopen it about 20 times, then I give up. I restarted my computer, tried again, same problem. I try to reinstall Minecraft (deleting the .minecraft folder and run minecraft.exe again), and it was stuck on "installing runtime", it was downloading, it went up to about 0.5 MB downloaded and either closed itself or restarted the download. so I delete minecraft.exe off of my computer, go to speedtest.net and it says my download speed is ~15 MBPS. I download minecraft.exe from minecraft.net/download#all and it says 12 minutes remaining for the longest time, then firefox says the download failed. And now I'm here, talking about it on the forums.
So I managed to download minecraft.exe and install it again. When it tries to download the files to run Minecraft, it does it slowly. speedtest.net says my download speed has gone down by 5 MBPS. When it finally tries to launch it I get "Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release"
I looked up that error and it said to re install java, I did that, still get the same error. And now I'm here, updating what has happened since I posted this thread. NOTE: The only items in my .minecraft folder are assets, libraries, versions, and launcher profiles.json UPDATE: I installed optifine 1.8 and instead of getting the error message, the second javaw.exe didn't start.
