I am really near sighted. two days ago I got the idea that I could use an HDMI cable and hook my computer up to my tv. it worked. I had a split screen set up where on one screen I could watch movies and on the second screen I could write documents. however whenever I tried to fire up mine craft things went wrong. It was like my camera was only capable of looking directly up or directly down. I had never had this problem before. I learned and accepted that minecraft isn't splitscreen friendly. so I unplugged the HDMI cable connecting the TV and the desktop pc.
However, things weren't fixed after that. No matter what I do my camera is only able to look up or down. if I go into second person view I spin like im on the teacups at the world fair. Mods aren't the problem either. I removed all my mods from the .minecraft folder and I STILL cant see. I tried going from version 18.1 back to version 1.7.10. the problem continues. It isn't fixed by creating new worlds, messing with the fps or mouse sensitivity settings. I even updated my java to something new. whats wrong? what did I do? What DO I do to fix it?
I have an ASUS desktop PC and moniter. They are both a year old. I am running Windows 8. I have both 32 bit and 64 bit java.
Are you using the installed .msi Minecraft or the older .exe launcher? I have never had that issue myself because I have used a split-screen display before and haven't had issues.
Obviously questions I'm sure you've tried but must asked in normal Technical support manor:
Have you rebooted the PC?
Have you tried wiping all of Minecraft (obviously backing up your saves) and re-installing?
1.) than you so much for trying to help. No one was posting.
2.) if the .exe is the mine craft launcher since 1.7.8, then yes I have been using it.
3) no I haven't tried rebooting but that's a good idea, I'll give it a go.
4.) I haven't tried uninstall/rest all but from other mine crafters who have had camera problems similar to mine, they say that uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix it
