For a long time I have been using mods and downloading them on my Dad's Mac(Desktop). This Christmas, I got a Macbook Air and noticed that Minecraft didn't come with a application support folder. Is there anywhere I can get this, or am I just not looking hard enough. And is there another way to use forge? Thanks
You must not be looking in the right stop. What you need to do is look up how to find the Library folder (I can find it but it is not very easy and hard to explain without me doing it), which is hidden by default. You might be able to find it using Spotlight, but there could be multiple Library folders. Inside the correct Library folder is Application Support which has the minecraft folder in it.
Edit: it is impossible to "look hard enough" (took me almost 30 minutes the first time to find it), you have to know where to look to find it (I have had to find many "hidden" files).

And then click Go to Folder (in the bottom)
type in
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Hope this helps
