I'm majorly nearsighted and I have my desktop set up in my living room about three feet from me. Even with my glasses, lettering and print and things on the internet and various programs is tiny and difficult to read. So today I decided I'd hook up my desktop to my TV screen to make things easier. I took a HDMI cord and connected the two. BAM. Split screen situation. So far things were going great. I could watch videos on one screen and write documents on another. The problems seemed to happen though when I went to play minecraft on my television.
I clicked and dragged minecraft from my computer monitor to my television screen. started it up... and couldn't play it all. Oh sure I could get the game file open but it was like the mouse sensitivity was turned to 5 million. I could only look up and then down. I couldn't move at all. I also couldn't press exit to pause the game. I was only saved from have to force shutdown my computer when I discovered I could still press the start button on my keyboard which forced the game to pause.
Also it performs this visual glitch where it "removes" the floor beneath me in a 20 by 10 block size (my best guess) and I can see all the way to the center of the world. I say "removes" but in reality the blocks are still there. I can delete them, place blocked on them and even walk on them. I just cant see any blocks in this rectangular radius all the way to verticle end of the game (floor).
the only time I can fix this problem is by moving the game screen back over to my computer moniter. BUT the visual glitch remains.
I have an ASUS and it had Windows 8. The cord used to connect the television is an HDMI cord. My flash is all up to date and I currently have NO MODS just incase you decide to suggest this. I am using 1.8.1 minecraft and haven't encountered any problems like this before.
I really am terribly nearsighted and don't have space for a formal office, desk and all. I like my living room computer set up. Can someone help me fix my split screen situation? Is mojangs minecraft just incompatible with splitscreens?
