Cannot Allocate More Memory To Minecraft

I am Having trouble when I bump up my allocated memory to 2G I get the message

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Initial heap size set to a larger value than the maximum heap size
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M

I have already tried going into enviorment settings and _JAVA_OPTIONS is not there, please help!

I have also googled the problem and have found that people have had the problem solved, with the solution being to delete _JAVA_OPTIONS

I have found that it is not a variable when I open my environment options for my account
