Possible Java Help? "Unknown Error" When Trying to Launch

I recently downloaded both the .msi and the .exe files, and both return the same errors. Here's the text from the nativelog text file:

Operating System: Windows Vista SP2

Any help would be appreciated. I know very little about Java, and the JavRa help above did not work.

We just purchased this and get the same error. Launcher not working. Unknown error. Disappointing.

Try using the prior launcher, also available from the same page under "show all platforms", that links here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/Minecraft.exe
