For our private hosted server, my friends and I communicate primarily through skype, so I can't say what may have changed to cause this bug. What happens is, at random, it seems like the chat clears itself. We can type something out and it will blink out almost instantly. Sometimes it takes a few seconds, sometimes it is instant, it's not consistent. So press T and whatever they said will show up right? Well, I press T and nothing at all shows up. Another thing is that it clears out my previous commands (/tp, for example). So when I press the Up arrow and expect to see my last /tp command, I get nothing. It seems to be client-sided somehow, as one of our members was complaining about it a few days before I experienced it. However, nothing changed on our clients between then, making it random.
The client, nor server consoles give any form of message when it happens, both read out the chat normally. I have tried re-installing minecraft twice, deleted and tried 3 different forge versions, updated two mods (as requested by Update Checker), deleting my options.txt, updating Optifine. Yes, my multiplayer chat is turned on. I've restarted the server about 5 times. The chat rarely works properly for one or two lines and then the bug resumes.
Any help for fixing this or figuring out what it could be would be great. Google was no help, by the way.

It helps to read the initial thread, on how to ask for help. We can't really say much without some actual logs. if there is no crash report, then it would help to log in the game, experience the issue, then go back to the MC launcher and copy paste the contents of launcher log + game output columns. If your launcher disappears, when you start it up initially, before you start the game, hit edit profile and select keep launcher open. Save profile and then start the game and play around, test out a chat and try to reproduce. For mods, it helps more if you take a screenshot of your mod folder, with all the file names visible, in case there is version or core mod or install requirements issue.
Since it's a server, what kind of platform is it? Are any plugins installed?
It helps to read my post as well. There are no logs as I stated. I repeat, there are no logs for the server or the client, when the issue occurs, both read out the chat normally. I have read through them and found nothing. The mods are installed properly with all the needed dependencies and recent versions. They are also the proper file types. The server is Forge, as you should be able to tell due to my client being Forge and having more than just client sided mods installed. Though I suppose you might have thought I had a cauldron server, in which case the answer is no. Cauldron was a bit of a mess at the time I tried to load it.
I apologize, but if this is the quality of help I can expect, I will look elsewhere, as everything you've suggested was covered in my main post.
Logs are always there, on the client and on the server. They may not be always super revealing but they're always there. At the very least I can look up the version of mcpc or cauldron or (lan?)forge or whatever server you're using and see if there are any known issues or conflicts with them.
You can start systematically taking down mods until the problem goes away too.

Have I posted in the wrong section or is this just that unusual?
