then your friends aren't very good friends. why get mad at you if it's the game's problem. im not sure what error you're having though.

... that's a weird error... The JVM is having trouble finding some code apparently related to character sets. This could mean that the Jars downloaded for minecraft are damaged or incomplete, or that the JVM package is damaged, or that something like antivirus software is blocking access to the required Jar.
When exactly does the error occur? When starting the launcher or after trying to Play from the launcher?

Have you played with your language settings in Minecraft at some point?
What happens if you use a new Profile with a different game directory? (This will cause the default options to be used when you launch that profile)
If it still fails, then I'd consider uninstalling and re-installing Java. If it no longer fails, then I think the cause is having some weird language selected in the failing profile's options.txt file.
Try reinstalling Minecraft to remedy this problem, and then tell me if it works or not.
Now i can't get into the launcher. it says windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I don't now what to do now.

If you listen to matthew make sure to make a backup before you delete it.
