So i have a minecraft superflat world and i exited and saved the world (no problems), i was in version 1.8
I then went on a server in 1.7.9 and forgot to change back to 1.8 when going back to the single player world i found all my items in inventory and chests where gone. Is it because i was in a different minecraft version? I went back to 1.8 and it did fix two chests worth of items but everything else is still gone. How do i fix this? I don't have any saved world back-ups either.
And if i can't fix it, does that mean all the chests in other villages in the superfalt world now have no items as well?
They disappear because item data is stored differently in 1.8 and 1.7. Item data for 1.8 is not backwards compatible to 1.7, and hence they are simply deleted. Unless you had a backup, they are gone for good. And yes, this means all chests within the vicinity of your loaded world will have no items. New chunks that are loaded, will still have items however.
