What could be some java arguments i could set to optimize my FPS in-game for playing singleplayer on the client by myself? i have tried thousands of combinations but they all take up MORE cpu and MORE memory instead of less CPU and less memory. and instead of making it run smoother it runs laggier. Does someone with knowladge of java arguments know of something for these computer specifications of some arguments i could use to optimize my FPS in-game?
I have
4GB ram
Intel HD Graphics
and Intel celeron Quad Core 2.41Ghz processor (lesser-end of the CPU's from intel)
I have tried many combinations of java arguments. more memory less memory different options and all kinds of other java arguments that don't seem to do a whole lot. or make it worse. i would like my client to use the least amount of CPU and without using loads of memory.
The point of JVM arguments are to allocate more memory for your Minecraft. When you allocate more memory from your 4GB, then it just means you entire computer slows down as Minecraft becomes a bit faster.
There is no way for you to both use less CPU and memory while getting more FPS. The point of having more CPU and memory is to get more processing power, and that combined with your video chipset (which also isn't that great) determines your FPS, and trying to force Minecraft to take up nonexistent resources won't help you.
The best recommendation would be to turn down video settings as much as possible (Fast graphics, no mipmap, lower chunk radius, etc.) to go faster, or upgrade your computer.
Basically, MC is a resource hog and the most effective way would be to reduce render distance and quality to the lowest you can live with. I have Intel HD graphics myself so I feel your pain. You can use third party software such as Razor Cortez game booster; it doesn't do anything you couldn't do yourself but it simplifies the process; to temporarily turn off background processes and services while gaming. I actually used Intel's generic driver and gained a slight performance increase of about 10 FPS. I keep my render distance at about 4 when just doing routine things when distance doesn't matter and only turn up to 10-12 when needed for mob grinders and exploring.
Edit: By the way, some resource packs actually give me better FPS over the default and some hurt alot more too for that matter). I'm currently using Realm of Idnaya for 1.8 32x and it helped me a some. ; )
