I have been searching for a while now on how to get higher FPS (frames per seconded) in minecraft, it seems like I have tried just about everything (except buying a new computer). I've tried optifine, changing my settings, setting my minecraft to a higher priority in task manager, even defragging my computer. Right now I only run about 30-40 FPS, if anyone had any ideas on how to increase that it would be helpful. Please comment and follow for daily posts!
Run the right version of Java (you'll be surprised how many people don't do this)
Make sure you have the right settings (no more than 4gig of RAM allocated*)
Try running optimisation mods- such as Optifine or Fastcraft (theres a tonne of setting and versions- you'll need to play around)
Play on a server- it'll reduce the load on your end.
If you have a low end PC, get a spare flash drive and use Readyboost.
Ask for help on the FTB forum- installing a tonne of mods does bad things for your performance, so theres a lot of help available for dealing with it.
*Yeah- no more than 4 gig is needed; Java is a strange beast, and going above more than 4 gig causes problems with 'garbage collection' which results in lag spikes. Also having a multicore processor won't help much because MC will only use 2 cores (client and internal server)

I use gamebooster which doesnt help for me too much but it does seem to give me a few more FPS...that with optifine helps. 30-40 FPS isnt too bad...we would all love the crazy 200+ FPS but some computers cant do it. Your computer just might not be good enough to get those numbers.
Yeah like I said, I can get up to 80+ in most cases but as soon as I hit an area with allot of world edit or a huge building I can drop down to even 6 fps

What may help a bit is giving us the specs of your computer. If solutions on the software side aren't working (mods, boosters, etc) you may need to consider an upgrade.
In what situations are you facing poor FPS? 30-40 is quite playable, I deal with slightly lower on a regular basis and don't consider it a handicap. Are you really worried about certain locations in your current world where you face FPS black holes and lag spikes caused by the environment?
Consider remodeling/redecorating to reduce or minimize your use of lag-increasing blocks and devices.
Replace item frames with signs or do without.
Reduce the number of chests by consolidating mostly-empty chests together into one combined chest.
Use jackolanterns for lighting rather than redstone lamps, lava, or torches. Reduce or eliminate decorative flowing water and lava.
Use hopper clocks rather than repeater/torch-based ones in your redstone devices, and reduce or eliminate the number of redstone circuits you have active.
Instead of storing dozens of chests of cobble excavated from the rooms and halls of your underground base, use some of that cobble to fill in small caves. This will cause some lag, but less than having torches in there to light them up, or mobs running around in dark chambers.
Use more efficient lighting schemes that just barely prevent spawning, rather than lots and lots of torches.
Reduce the number of livestock you cram into one place. Keep a few sheep of every color, not dozens of each color. Keep smaller batches of pigs etc. that you breed and cull more frequently rather than a huge pen crammed with dozens of pigs that you visit only occasionally.
Many of these will make your base look like crap or reduce its functionality, but better a lesser base than one you can't move around and open chests in.
These may make your

Surprisingly enough, not on all. You may have to turn off your anti virus software and turn it back on when you are done.
