I've been away from minecraft for about two years now, so forgive me if this is a common issue with a simple fix - I couldn't find anything.
What happens is that whenever I attempt to break a two-high grass block via the bottom half, the top half temporarily flashes the texture of a Peony. No Peony drops, and it's a very brief flash, but annoying nonetheless. I've attached a video showing the exact issue, with vanilla minecraft and with OptiFine installed.

-4GBs RAM allocated to Minecraft (16 GB Total)
-680M w/ 4GBs RAM
-i7-3740QM @2.7GHz
