hello, I have a graphical error, however I fixed it the best I could and it is still happening, I would like to explain what I have tried then hopefully someone could get me the issues resolved..
when I woke up yesterday my onscreen desktop icons were big in size which indicated to me something was wrong, I restarted my computer after trying to re-size the icons back to my small font size, and on restart I had color lines through the screen so I felt something was wrong with my graphics card, however the desktop did fix itself, so I tried to log on minecraft and got this driver outdated error, so I went ahead and put in a new graphics card, and installed it with the cd, got the same error, so I checked my "Start -> Manage -> Device Manager" and noticed on any graphics card I used it says outdated drivers with the ! next to it. so I re-installed windows fresh and from scratch, re-installed jdk/jre and installed the graphics drivers properly, I no longer get errors stating that there are issues with my graphics, yet I still have this same error.. so I will post the error and hopefully someone else could point out something I didn't think of.

The minecraft error indicates that you do not have the proper driver installed. You might have the latest driver distributed by Microsoft, but you need the latest driver distributed by whoever makes your video card, ones that comes with OpenGL support.

yes, I know that however what I was getting at is, i did a clean install and installed the latest drivers from my company, Galaxy which is the provider of my graphics card, as well as the latest jdk/jre and all the proper drivers, and it still acted up, now I attempted to revert back to windows xp which i haven't used for years thinking it was a windows 7 issue which I never had before, and same error just installed everything properly, latest drivers etc, and got the same exact error just now.. this leads me to believe it is something else but says the driver error, I do not know why it would be causing that it all started with my old graphics card frying 2 days ago.
Edit: Ok I got it to work on windows xp sp2, using the same old graphics card I used to play minecraft on windows 7 in the past, it will not work on sp3 or above, I attempted to install vista/win7/xp sp3, and all of them gave the same driver error, I would like to know why a graphics card I used in the past on windows 7 will not work on anything above windows xp sp2 anymore? and how would I fix this, quite a pickle lol..
