I've been playing on a survival game on singleplayer for a very long time, at least for the past few major versions, and I am currently running 1.8.1 and I've had an issue for a long time now:
I have set up my house in a "planes" biome, and ALL weather has stopped. It is now "clear" ALL the time. I remember when I first started playing, it did rain / thunder, but then it stopped, and hasn't done anything for about at least 1000+ game days. I read that it should rain on average about once per 7 days.
Is anyone aware of reasons why there would be NO weather effects? I want weather, since it adds to the realism and fun for me.
SOME ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- I have moved about 100-500 chunks away from my hard (world) spawn point, but I don't see that making any difference.
- I tried not sleeping for about 20 days, but this did nothing. I've read that sleeping might reset the rain counter?
- I do have cheats enabled, and I've used the "/weather rain", which does cause it to rain for a very short time, and then it stops and will not happen again on it's own. Does anyone know of some kind of command that permanently enables/disables weather effects?
- I have 2 other worlds on this same computer, a macbook pro, and it does rain on these worlds.
Thanks for the answer. I used the command "/weather rain", which I don't believe sets a time limit. Even if I did that wouldn't turn weather off, would it?
