As those familiar with the problem can guess I get the following error when trying to run Minecraft with more RAM:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Initial heap size set to a larger value than the maximum heap size
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M
and yes I am aware this is caused by Razer software(and they're too damn apathetic to fix it) but here's the deal: I am a one-handed gamer; the thumb grid on my mouse replaces what other gamers use their left hand and keyboard for. so, I literally can't play Minecraft without the mouse, and Minecraft is unplayable with only 512Mb of RAM.
one semi-workaround I've found is to add _JAVA_OPTIONS to environment variables. and it works great after a restart but it doesn't "stick," it's like windows forgets about its own environment variable and the next time I run Minecraft it's back to the above error. I work with resource packs a lot so I'm frequently needing to close Minecraft[plus sometimes resource packs crash].another problem with this workaround is that it causes all java apps to use however much RAM I set in the environment. My computer has RAM for days so that's not really an issue.
another thing I tried based on what I read on this forum: setting my mouse to the Minecraft profile then closing all Razer related processes from the task manager. but that didn't work either(above error again).
If anyone has any tips or suggestions on how I can get Minecraft and my mouse working at the same time I'd really appreciate it.
