I am having a problem allocating RAM to minecraft and technic.

Ok so I got a RAM upgrade for my computer from 4GB to 8GB, and I tried to allocate and use that RAM to play on technic but I got no improvement.

I think I am not allocating RAM to JVM (Java Virtual Machine) properly.

My computer recognizes memory but I can't allocate to JVM.

Can someone help me allocate Memoery to JVM I am using Java 7 update 45.

It would be great if someone could help.

These are the arguments for min and max memory that you want to allocate. Just substitute your own needs; the first is max the second is minimum.

-Xmx2048M -Xms1024M

The above is in megs if you want to use Gigs

-Xmx2G -Xms1G
