I am using a slightly altered version of the 1.7.10 Magequest pack and my computer seems to get really laggy (sometimes leading to full blown graphics driver crashes) I've tried updating, drivers deleting and remaking the pack from scratch, adding and of course power cycling. It runs heavier weight graphic games just fine without a hint of lag for hours. Here is my computer's specs http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G72Gx/specifications/
I have the core 2 duo version, and I'll be happy to provide any other info on it I may have forgotten
I don't know much about computers, but I would try allocating more ram. If you're using a modpack launcher, it can usually be found in the settings of the launcher. If you're using minecraft launcher, you can allocate more ram by doing this:
I'm using the p8700 @ 2.53 Ghz, and my cpu doesnt seem to be an issue it barely gets above its sitting temp. My graphics card temp after a while shoots up 10 degrees and if played long enough the driver crashes
I've got 6GB of ram so I think I have that covered. but thanks for the advice I think I am just going to build a new desktop anyway I put it off for too long as is.
