How do you make a minecraft world with no blocks in 1.8?

I been wanting to build a map but I want a empty world but I can't fin a way to do that in 1.8.

Can someone help me.

You can have an empty map by simply click "Create new world", then "other options", then change the type into "custom", then "customize" and then there is a number at the beginning you can change.
