Okay, so I haven't touched Minecraft since the second to last Beta update or so. Yesterday, I was cleaning up and backing up files and I ended up going on my old Mediafire account, which I used to backup several Minecraft saves. One that caught my eye was a world titled "World5", which I vaguely remember as being some super-awesome base that I made.
This file was last modified, according to Mediafire, on 12-9-2010; according to the Minecraft wiki, this means that it is from no later than Alpha 1.2.6 (the Bug-Fix Update pt. 5).
As you may remember, this is from a very old world format, and when I dropped the (extracted, obviously) folder into my saves, it did not appear on the world list. How can I convert it?
Link to the world if relevant: -snipped because it wasn't awesome at all and is no longer relevant-
I'd try running it through some intermediate versions of Minecraft first. Try loading it in the first version that used the MCR format (beta 1.3), then the first version that used Anvil (release 1.2)
