I'm on a new PC and I'm experiencing lagging every 3-4 seconds. It will run smoothly and then the framerate will tank but then will go back to normal after another 3-4 seconds. Nothing I change in the settings has any affect.
Tried Optifine and that didn't work, BUT...I found a way to make it NOT lag; don't maximize the window. Whenever I maximize the window, it proceeds to lag for that 3-4 seconds. If I manually scale the window to match my full screen, it doesn't lag. Any idea why this could be?

Everyone experiences less lag when the game isn't maximized; it's just how the game works. Have you tried pressing F11 and going into fullscreen?
