That's the error. Nothing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING fixes it. Deleted ENTIRE .minecraft folder and it would not re-download it again after updating java.

Please tell me the fix!

please help i really want to play minecraft again and i dont know whats wrong!!! ive tried uninstalling JAVA and minecraft and reinstalling and starting from scratch everything!!!!! Im short of reinstalling windows to fix this error if it comes to that!!

It's a problem with the version of Java you are running with. Lots of reports findable on Google for software other than Minecraft when run with Java 1.8.0_40-ea (Hint "ea" means early access, i.e. potentially buggy, or in this case, definitely buggy).

How to fix java?

Update it to Java 1.8.0_25 (Latest) and see if that works for you.

As Legoman says, install the latest released version of java instead of the beta version you have now.
