Hello, I just have a very minor problem with my minecraft that goes kinda like this:
I go onto minecraft and pull out a sword... and I see this: I can only see the handle of the sword, the rest I can't see, it's run into the right side of my monitor! (I use a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 16" Monitor)
I just want to know how to fix this, because it kind of annoys me to not be able to see it. Everybody else I know who plays minecraft can see it!
(And it's not just the sword, it's pretty much every block in the game!)
Please find a solution, and I will be able to breathe easier (if you know what I mean, that is)

but it sounds like your running a 4:3 monitor (not widescreen), whereas minecraft is designed to be played on widescreen thus the edge of the screen is missing.
does the fulle sword/item show correctly when you play on a windowed screen (not fullscreen)
I had this same problem once. It happens because Minecraft is meant to be played on a widescreen monitor. (why, I do not know) I fixed it by changing Minecraft to windowed mode.
Yes, it does work fine if I do windowed mode, and also, if I change it to widescreen, for example, a zombie looks 3 blocks tall!
Well, just use windowed then. If it looks weird to you right now, that's just because you got used to/started to get used to playing with half the screen gone.
Edit: Yah, that's why widescreen is meant for, you know, widescreen.
Your resolution is almost square, and as has been said, that's why. You've got the equivalent of "pan and scan". In windowed mode you can decide the screen ratio by reshaping the window.

Don't be surprised if one day I take over the front page of the Forum Games, and then disappear for months at a time. It happens.

I was going to put a list of words of wisdom here, but I think I'll put this here instead

No way anyone could get used to that!
