it seems like nobody is having the same issue as me.

i have a batch file to launch the server with 4Gb of RAM, I have the CoFH core and thermal foundation. the batch file runs, the server window pops up, a few lines of text come up as it does what it does, then closes leaving me with the black backed window opened by my start.bat. the server runs fine with a number of other mods, it's just being buthurt about this mod...

You only really have a single mod. You don't have to wonder and ask us what it is that's crashing you and we can't modify or fix the mods themselves. Just post to the author and ask what to do:

Verify you have latest version for that game version before you report. If not latest update first and test.

Try updating your Thermal Expansion to 4.0.0B6-16. Fixed the problem for me
