For some reason ever since I updated to minecraft 1.8 I have been getting insane lag from fireworks. While other particles do cause slight lag it is barley noticeable unless there is a very large amount of them. I have tried installing optifine, and it doesn't help. 1.8.1 causes no improvements either. However when playing 1.7.10 I get little lag from fireworks. My friends say they aren't getting the same issue on 1.8. I have my particles set to decreased and it does not help at all. I have two gigabytes of RAM allocated to MC also. Help would be very much appreciated, thank you
Did you hold it down for more than 10 seconds? (it crashes once you release) If that doesn't work then there's no other way to force a crash (although I don't think Optifine typically interferes with these things).
Yes, I am holding it for longer than 10 seconds. Another cause for it not working is my computer has F3 set to change the monitor brightness, and as a result I have to hold Ctrl when doing F3+C. Could this be why it isn't working? I can still open the F3 menu or smooth the camera if I hold Ctrl and press the F_ button.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
Already have. I get decent FPS normally, but once someone launches fireworks, and only fireworks for some reason, I get insane lag. I play on mineplex a lot, and all the abilities and particle effects cause little lag, at the end of a game when a team wins and all the fireworks go off, I get 1 fps.
I too, have this same problem. I also play on mineplex, and get the lag. I also use optifine, but nothing helps. I tried render distance 2, ive tried turning off particals, but in 1.7.10, fireworks barely lag me. I dont think there is nothing wrong with yours. I think 1.8 is just glitchy.
I have the same problem...made my MC graphics the worst they could be turning off everything, and the Mineplex and other fireworks still lag me...

well in 15w34b the new repeating command blocks can be used with new particles to make a wonderful arua! just set 4 command blocks to repeat and put /execute @p ~2 ~1 ~ /particle dragonbreath ~2~1 ~ 0 1 0 0.01 10 as 1 the next is /execute @p ~-2 ~1 ~ /particle dragonbreath ~-2 ~1 ~ 0 1 0 0.01 10 followed by those exact commands exept make them flame! all those 4 commands can be used to what i call the Flaming Galaxy Particles!
I got lucky and found an old pvp mod that prevented fireworks from going off. I forget the name of it, however, it was legal on almost every server when 1.8 came out, however it was updated and added a radar that was not customizable, and was removed from planet minecraft. I still have it on my old computer, before the map, but i dont know if it will still work. look for mods that turn off fireworks

If you don't mind, just turn your particles to decreased or minimal.
