Hey guys. So basically Minecraft 1.8 will not allow me to allocate more RAM no matter what I set the java arguments to. It stays around 500MB or so, but the problem is that my game basically starts to freeze every 5 seconds after playing for a little while. It's like watching a slide show. The only way to fix it is to restart Minecraft. The lag will occur when the RAM approaches the maximum, and then goes down a little. I am running 64 bit Java 8 update 25 (latest version), and my computer is good. Any help would be appreciated.
If so this is the problem and either comes from your user profile environment settings, or Java control panel settings, or (apparently) from the latest Razer Synapse update. If you have Synapse you have to terminate it.
Uninstalling Synapse successfully solved both of these issues for me. Unfortunately, I would like to have it for Razer Surround, but I suppose I can live with stereo for now as long as my game runs fine. Thanks again!

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M
quite frequently while trying different arguments, and I do have Razer Synapse. I'll try messing with that later and see what happens. Thanks.
Also would Synapse by chance be the reason I am suddenly getting a lot of lag when I enable VSync?
