A few weeks ago I was working on my Modern House Project, using WorldEdit. It came from the original and legit site and never had any problems with it.

When I returned home to turn my laptop on again, the world save was gone.

The world name was, "New Wor" (Don't judge it, I usually rename them after i'm done) and I went to .minecraft, then to saves, and it was there, but didn't show up in the actual game.

I tried doing the process of restoring and all that by creating a new save and putting dat.old, all that (I can't remember specifically, but that didn't work.)

When I entered that world, the chunks were messed up, which is probably usual.



Now, over the past few years, i've seen people uploading corrupted files for other users to help them restore it.

I've uploaded, New Wor.zip to MediaFire, can someone help me restore it? (If they could restore it for me, since I'm not a good corrupted restore-person.)

If you happen to help me, please reply to this thread if you are, then if you can (or if there is, i'm fairly new to this site), PM me the link to the new recovered world.

Remember, if you find anything in the recovered world, it should be like, a modern house, made out of snow and quartz.

If you need to ask any questions about the files, what's there, etc, feel free to do so.

You're going to need to include more info than that. For example, did you have any other mods on there other than worldedit? Was this your server save or single player world? What forge/game version are you using? Did you change them between the last time you loaded the game and now? What about your java? Do you get any crash logs? If not, can you post the contents of launcher log and game output (find them on the MC launcher)? Are you looking to save only your house or the entire world? And so on...

When I was playing my world, the computer hibernated (low battery.) When I got home and opened up the laptop, it didn't die. It just hibernated and the game was paused. Continued from there, saved the game and closed it. That night I opened Minecraft up again and it wasn't there.

- Since this was 1.7.10, (Reading the installed mods in-game), WorldEdit (WorldEditWrapper) and LiteLoader.

- On the profile tab, it says I am using LiteLoader 1.7.10. I also have that JVM arguments thing checked, -Xmx1G.


- Single Player World

- The version stayed the same when I closed the game and opened it up.

- I am looking to save the area around my house, defined by low plains, sort of a forest clearing with forests around it. It's a big snow and quartz complex building thing. So the plains and building I am looking to save.

- How do I get the log in the launcher from 11/8, and how do I check my Java version in Minecraft?

Java version will be listed in the launcher log but if you want to double check, hit edit profile below the profile you selected, and near the bottom where it says JVM, it should have a line saying executable path or something like that, and in that path will be listed java version in the file name.

When you have the launcher open, it will have several tabs. You mentioned profile tab. There should be 3 more. News, Launcher Log and Game Output. Click on each of the last two, highlight all the text and copy/paste here after you've tried to run it.

If you are able to get into the game, are the chunks that contain your house completely messed up? Is your house still there to save so to speak?

Should I check the box, 'executable'?

Also, it says jre7.

Is your house affected by this corruption? Does it still look mostly ok?

Also do you have the seed of your original world?

If yes, technically you should be able to re-create the same world as it was when you first created it so that you do not need to look for similar looking area and have no issues pasting into different biome from your original one.
It should be possible to select a region including your house, export it and then overlay it onto your newly re-generated world.
Found a quick worldedit instruction:

Worldedit.

Select the area, //copy it, then //save name, it will appear in a "schematics" folder. Move that schematics folder to the new world's folder and do //load name and finally //paste :3

No, the problem is, the ENTIRE world is corrupted, I can't get it back (at least with my terrible recovering skills.)

I have the dat files and all that for the world, is there a way I can find the seed in there? If not, I didn't use any seed I believe.

Err...I'm not sure how to recover a completely corrupted world, sorry

Seed is a number created whenever you create a world. So when you load up your world, type /seed and it should print out the number. Write it down. Then exit and create a new world. Call it something else. Go under More World Options and you'll see a blank box and it says Seed for the world generator. Generally you leave this blank but you can type it in there to re-create the same world.

However, all of that is kinda pointless if your house is gone. Sorry this is beyond my skills.

How am I supposed to get INTO the world when its corrupted! I can't find the seed. The world I uploaded to MediaFire is the corrupted save.

Um...nothing in your log indicated that you weren't able to get in? Was it cut off at the end? Or maybe I'm just reading it wrong. Sorry I assumed you were able to start it when I read it as it shows no forced shutdown.

Are you able to load the world without liteloader/worldedit?

What world? I cannot access the lost world at all. Of course, when I tried the not-working recovery thing, I was able to access it but the chunks were all messed up and everything was weird.

Ok lets start from the beginning. What not-working recovery thing are you doing? Did you start replacing files or something? Do you have backup before you started messing with it? Exactly what did you do? If you were able to access it (however mangled it looked) then that's what I'm talking about. If you're able to enter it and see messed up chunks, is one of your chunks your house and is your house mauled beyond recognition? Why aren't you able to type /seed then?

Yes, I did the replacing files method (I can't remember the process). If you found a helpful thread about recovering corrupted saves, that'd be great.

I still have the corrupted world, I deleted that new world (after trying so much I gave up.) But can you link me to a thread that help me recover it again?

Before I deleted that copy of that world to recover, the biomes were different, no house, except just a few giant squares (the chunks) that took a bite of the landscape.

So to reiterate, you cannot load this world as it is (without messing with files), with or without liteloader/worldedit?

I think that may have been the wrong lost world. I have another one, but with ONLY the files, data, level.dat.mcr, and sessionlock.

Okay, I followed the gamepedia's steps.

The LAND from the corrupted world cut out the new world's land, the plains. It looks identical to where I built the house. I just need the house back...

Ack. What about trying one of the older saves instead from the second method? If you can get an older save file that is.

Does anyone know how to save the physical house, not just the region?

Did you check the MediaFire download?
