After running MC 1.6.7 with Forge for a Long Long time I decided to update to 1.7.10. First thing I did was to save my worlds to a flash drive. I deleted the entire MC folder and downloaded 1.7.10. Install went well with no issues. I then downloaded and installed Forge for 1.7.10 and then ran MC once to create the MOD folder. I then copied my "Saved Worlds" folder back to the minecraft default directory. I then downloaded and copied my Mods to the mod folder. Ran MC and started up with no issues. When I load one of my worlds there are Random Iron blocks placed all over the place. Never seen this before. Hundreds of them. Was this an update that went Haywire ? Attaching a screen shot.
Okay I am not able to get a screen shot, but trust me, The iron blocks are there.
The update from 1.6 to 1.7 was so huge, that users were warned that they most likely wouldn't be able to port their 1.6 worlds to 1.7 without breaking. It seems like some sort of id mixup where it's assigning iron to something a little more common but I suspect any sort of MCEdit cleanup would be more trouble than creating a new world.

Agreed ! Would just be too troublesome so I am better off moving on to new and better worlds. Thank you for the info.
Just stumbled upon something strictly by accident. While moving through my world to destroy the iron blocks I accidentally left clicked on one of them. Popup asked me to enter keycode. I have securitycraft installed so this must be a bug. Going to try to remove securitycraft mod to see if problem goes away.
Removed the Securitycraft mod and problem is gone. All iron blocks have been removed. Going to let the mod creator know.
**UPDATE** After removing security craft mod and reinstalling, the bug seems to be gone. I can use security craft as normal and no random iron blocks occur.
