I've played minecraft on this laptop before. Granted it was a bit slow at times, but I very much enjoyed vanilla in the comfort of my own bed, or on the couch, or at a friend's house, or wherever, but that all changed. Around perhaps 6.4 or 7 my computer started crashing whenever Bootstrap tried launching. Around the same time I also factory-reset and cleaned a lot of my computer to get rid of unnecessary programs. Here's what the launcher pops up after crashing:

(I bleeped out my computer's name and my username, but this is exactly what it pops up in the window.)
I don't know what to do! The only references I've found that seem to relate to this was other people posting about how they've had similar problems, but then either nobody knows what to do, or someone fixes it for them, and when I try the same methods it doesn't work!
Needless to say this is a bit infuriating. I guess it's also notable that my computer WILL PLAY FeedTheBeast, and if I install Nodus then it will allow me to run a much older version of Minecraft. However, ATLauncher will NOT run. I'm wondering if it might be some problem that is fixed by getting rid of some file I have in my data that other's don't, but then again, I have deleted and re-downloaded Minecraft many times since this began. And with the new updates I've been really wanting to play with all the new Vanilla content and show my girlfriend and etc.
So if anybody has ANYTHING that might help I'd be greatly appreciative.
I'm running a SONY VAIO with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I have tried BOTH 64 and 32 bit JAVA, together and separate.
I'm by no means tech-savvy, so if I didn't put the right information needed then I have no problem looking it up and re-posting it below, but I might need instructions on where to find what you need to see if it takes more than common since to find.
Again, thanks for your time an for any help you guys could give. I miss this wonderful game and very little can even attempt to fill the void..
This error currently only affects all versions past 1.7.4 - and will likely affect all future versions of Minecraft.
As such, you may work around this error by using a version prior to 1.7.4, such as 1.7.2. To play 1.7.4 or later versions, you will need a new computer. Alternatively for desktop users, you can buy a new GPU, but the fact that your computer has an Intel 965 Chipset means that your computer is likely to be very old, and a new computer may be a better way to go.
Just use a version of MineCraft below 1.7.4.

Been loyal to MineCraft since 2009:
Click here, for more info about my current PC. The specs are:
• i7-7700k @5.0GHz
• 48GB DDR4 @2133MHz
• GTX 1080 Ti
• 256GB NVMe SSD
• 5TB in 7200RPM HDDs
Actually no. lol. That missing file is affecting all versions of the 'pre' 1.8.x, and will be fixed in the official 1.8.1 release. MrKitty's problem is what I listed above. His computer utilises the Intel 965 Chipset, and cannot run any version of MineCraft past 1.7.4, therefore your solution is redundant I'm afraid. =/
Im not an expert, but that could be one of the problems
...No. Lol. That is the default textures loaded by MineCraft. It's not a texture pack. To give you an example.. um. A 128x128 texture pack will load like this:

There is actually a patch out there for this problem. I cant find the website, but someone made a patch that bypasses the OpenGL problem introduced in 1.7.4 that had issues with Intel Mobile 4 Series chipsets. Ah, actually it looks like the patch used to be on hopper but was taken down. OP might have some luck installing one of the newer custom drivers from here though http://www.eightforums.com/graphic-cards/4418-mobile-intel-series-4-intel-hd-graphics-1st-generation.html
Thank you everyone for your time and input. I had worried about the GPU a lot recently, and have been looking into acquiring a newer computer with a bit more Umph. I hope I can work something out on the upcoming Cyber Monday sales or something, because I honestly don't want to wait another year or two to save up, and if I ever have to take out a loan I don't want it to be huge.
I guess while I'm here, does anyone know where to acquire a pre-built computer with a decent GPU for playing games like Minecraft, Don't Starve, Kerbal Space Program, Space Engineers, etc?

The rest on top are the normal startup until this step. Re download minecraft to solve the problem. If it doesn't work then go to this thread:http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/unmodified-minecraft-client/2213965-file-minecraft-sounds-mob-ghast-fireball-ogg-does
