Hello,

I have a weird problem that is driving me crazy. I went to play minecraft this evening and I kept getting the "Initial Heap Size Larger Than Max Heap Size" error. So i backed up everything and deleted my .minecraft and re-downloaded everything. Fired up the new one and it worked. So I said cool, lets get the parameters reset. Set -Xms1G -Xmx2G, and tried to play. Got the Initial Heap size set to a larger value than the maximum heap size error.... then i noticed the line

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M

Somewhere, minecraft/java is resetting my max heap size.... any ideas what can be causing this?

Windows 7/ 16Gigs Ram/

No dice on that... Java was not in the User variable nor was it in the system variables...

Do you know what changed on your system since it wasn't like this? What software has been installed, or perhaps updated?

I will need to check when I get back home, but I do remember that my chunk render distance was reduced to 16, even though the game "sees" that I am running 64 bit java.
