I'm getting bad lag in single player and wondering if this is a common bug and how to fix. I've searched around and can't seem to find any fixes. First it takes around 5-10 minutes for the game to load when I click the 'play' button in the launcher. It doesn't seem like it has downloaded all of the resources as it is downloading .jar packages each time I try and play. Once I get into the game it lags while it is loading the scenery. When I'm clearing blocks eventually I won't pick up the dropped blocks and I'll skip back and the blocks reappear. When I look in the launcher I see this message "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 2256ms behind, skipping 45 tick(s)"
Here are some of the things I've tried:
- Fresh Win 7 install.
- Updated drivers for everything
-64 bit system with 64 bit java 7
- i've tried different versions (32/64) of java, different versions of minecraft, etc...
- I have 8 gb of memory and the hard drive is brand new
The Default Minecraft settings will only take up 1G of data , if you open the Minecraft launcher and enter your account setting there will be a box you can check off called JVM arguments the first set of numbers/Letter should read -Xmx1G if you change it to -Xmx2G it will allow 2G of data and so on and so on, If this doent work just try reucing you video settings in game and setting the Frame Rate To Unlimited, I am using Windows 8 but that should make to difference

I've tried that to no avail unfortunately. Also, I tried only running minecraft. One thing I've noticed is the launcher doesn't seem to download all of the assets. Is there a way to push all the files to the minecraft folder?
