I have been having the same issue all week. I emailed majong but have yet to receive a response. I tried creating an account at minecraft.net as well as the majong website.
I've tried a maybe 20 times to register since Saturday. It's really crazy that their hasn't been more internet buzz about this... Thanks for starting the post. ( I've just joined the forums for this issue )

I'm shocked that google results for this message are nil...
Maybe everyone in the world except for my kids has an account.
When will I be able to register an account? Soon usually means hours, not days.

Since Friday when trying to make a new account I get
Register new Mojang Account

Anyone know when I will be able to register? My 7 year old bought Mincraft with his birthday money and is anxiously waiting to play the game.

ModeratorFor basic things like they site not up you can always tweet them @mojangsupport for a faster reply, emailing them will take 3-5 business days.
You can always try refreshing the page, a different browser or waiting for any tweeking Mojang maybe doing to be finished.
