I'm having this problem in minecraft where even though i allocated more ram to it, it says i didn't and it still runs out of memory (See Picture) does anyone know how i can fix this?
Firstly, you'll need to set your launcher to stay open: to make sure the launcher stays open: click Edit Profile, then check Launcher Visibility, select Keep Launcher Open and finally hit Save Profile.
Once you have set it to stay open, please provide your Launcher Log after starting the game:
We need to see what is in your Launcher Log, which can be found on the second tab of the launcher.
First, copy all of the text (right click on any empty space, press 'Copy All Text'). Then, paste the text you've copied in spoiler tags in a reply.

You have not allocated RAM correctly. Instead of increasing it, you have decreased it to ~512 MB. Follow these instructions:
Click "Edit Profile"
Uncheck "JVM Arguments"
Click Save
Click "Edit Profile" again
Re-Check "JVM Arguments"
Replace -Xmx1G with -Xmx2G
Click Save
Start Minecraft
This should give you twice as much RAM as default.

Then we can know what went wrong, and try to fix it!

Try to use "Xmx2048M -Xms2048M"

~Ant
You don't need and should not have -Xms2048M or any -Xms
I have done that and it works follow him..
Of course it works, but you do not need it. Just use -Xmx2G alone.
