[1.8][Windows 7] Grid of black dots

Haven't played Minecraft in a while and when I went on again and updated, for some reason I've got a grid of black dots across the game window. It's tough to explain so please look at the attached pictures.

Things I've tried

Deleting the .minecraft folder
Removing Java and reinstalling
Updating my graphics drivers
Multiple reboots
Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, I feel stupid. After debugging this for a couple of days I finally decided to try making it full screen.

It works

I mean, it hasn't fixed the problem, if it's ever windowed it's still messed up and almost unreadable, but when full screen there's no issue.
